چکیده

Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (PC-HER) provides a solution to energy crisis and environmental pollution. Herein, different graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4)-based van der Waals (vdW) type II homojunctions have been fabricated g-C3N4/K-doped g-C3N4 nanosheets an outstanding PC-HER rate of 1,243 µmol-h?1·g?1 under visible light, higher than that bulk g-C3N4, doped nanosheets, mixed nanosheets. The enhanced performance can be ascribed the cooperative effects shortened bandgap, enlarged specific surface area, matched band structure, “face face” vdW charge interaction, peculiarly partite positions conduction valence bands in layers. Besides, junctions were found superior binary junction. This study highlights synergistic effect strategies improving capacities especially application particular junctions, new insights structures mechanism.

Platinum nanoparticles strongly associated with graphitic carbon nitride as efficient co-catalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution under visible light.

Platinum (Pt) nanoparticles with <4 nm diameter loaded on graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) by reduction at 673 K behave as efficient co-catalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution under visible light (λ >420 nm). This is achieved by strong Pt-support interaction due to the high temperature treatment, which facilitates efficient transfer of photoformed conduction band electrons on g-C3N4 to...

Ammonia-induced robust photocatalytic hydrogen evolution of graphitic carbon nitride.

We report a new and effective method to prepare high activity graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) by a simple ammonia etching treatment. The obtained g-C3N4 displays a high BET surface area and enhanced electron/hole separation efficiency. The hydrogen evolution rates improved from 52 μmol h(-1) to 316.7 μmol h(-1) under visible light.

Highly Efficient Photocatalytic H2 Evolution from Water using Visible Light and Structure-Controlled Graphitic Carbon Nitride**

The major challenge of photocatalytic water splitting, the prototypical reaction for the direct production of hydrogen by using solar energy, is to develop low-cost yet highly efficient and stable semiconductor photocatalysts. Herein, an effective strategy for synthesizing extremely active graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) from a low-cost precursor, urea, is reported. The g-C3N4 exhibits an ext...
